Ayesha Javed is a political activist and a prominent Member of the Provincial Assembly, Punjab and has served as an MPA from 2008-2013 and 2013 onwards. She is currently a member of the Assemblies’ Finance Committee and Works & Communication Committee. She has introduced important legislative reforms in the Punjab Assembly regarding the rules and procedures to be followed by the members of the Assembly. She routinely works at the grassroots level, engaging with the people in the constituency she looks after, providing infrastructure and facilities from streetlights to paved roads. She has a foot in the development camp as well, having moderated several civic workshops and provided training to many members of civil society. She has been part of numerous national and international delegations including visits to the Westminster and Scottish Parliaments, and engaging with the administration of German municipalities; recently she represented the parliament of Pakistan in the United Nations Evaluation Week.
She has served as Advisor Chairperson Taskforce and has held various government and party posts including Advisor Chairperson Taskforce President Women’s Wing Lahore (PML-N), President Human Right Wing Punjab (PML) and is currently the Additional General Secretary Youth Wing Pakistan (PML-N).
She on the Board of many reputable NGOs, libraries, organsations, government and non government and has a widely dispersed network of associates and affiliates.
